about

This song is by Ray Mason, the pride of Northampton, Mass. I'm super lucky to have met Ray and gotten to play and record with him on occasion. Ray is a musical force of nature whether he's wielding his trusty Silvertone guitar in front of his own band or playing that well worn Fender Precision Bass with The Lonesome Brothers. It was my good fortune to produce Ray when he played bass on "The Knitter" by Cheri Knight.

In 1999 the guys from Tar Hut Records asked me to contribute a song for the Ray Mason tribute record they were putting together. My home recorded version of Ray's song "It's Heartbreak That Sells" became both the lead off track and the title cut of the record. I hope you enjoy it. Please visit and follow Ray's Bandcamp page. You won't be sorry that you did!
